Our goat Zoie’s first kidding and our first kidding experience

Thanks to all of the videos and information out there that helped us prepare for this delivery. She did so good and I have to say I think we as first timers did good too. She delivered her kidds with in a half an hour first one born at 1:05 PM second one at 1:32 PM and the third one at 1:33 PM. She delivered the placenta around 3:00 and the babies were all nursing at 5:00. Now we have about a month to prepare for our next goat Buttercup to Kidd. thanks for watching and thank you again for all of the fellow goat owners for sharing all of your experiences.

First Puppies Are Born at the Bow Valley SPCA

The Bow Valley SPCA announces the birth of four new puppies at the Carla Cumming Sojonky Adoption Centre, located in Canmore Alberta. The new mother (Sparrow) was rescued and brought to the adoption centre only a few days before she gave birth. The babies were born on either February 9 or 10 between 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM. According to Sonya White, the Adoption Centre Manager, She is a great mom, the puppies are all nursing, and she is keeping them nice and clean. Sparrow lets us handle them too, but keeps a close eye on them! They are all resting comfortably. This is an exciting day in our history! Sparrow’s partner and, mostly likely, the father is named Jack (also rescued at the same time as Sparrow), so together they are Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean; so we (Ann Jorgenson, the Animal Care Attendant that discovered them on the morning of February 10) named the pups after the islands. The Pups will be available for adoption in April. Please contact the Bow Valley SPCA at 403 609?2022 or on the web at www.bowvalleyspca.org.

Registered Nurses First Day of Work

It takes many years of schooling and hands on training to become a registered nurse, so when that first day comes it can be a bit overwhelming. You have to know how to handle the situations that come up and be ready to deal with the hospital’s policies. You’ll also need to know in advance what your first day will be like so you know what to expect. Some hospitals will have you jump right into the job, letting your start actual work right away. Other times you’ll have to sit through some classes and go through specific training for that hospital. Whatever your situation might be, you should be prepared for your first day.

Travel Nursing : Taking that first big step!

Deciding to take your Nursing Career on the road as a Travel Nurse isn’t always an easy decision to make.  By nature Nurses are responsible, hard working people who find the idea of short term employment a little frightening.  In reality, Travel Nursing affords you more work security than you might imagine.  If you consider that there are tens of thousands of Travel Nursing positions vacant and waiting to be filled at any given time, and contrast that to the number of nursing positions available for full time nurses close to your home, it suddenly doesn’t seem like such an unreasonable step to make towards financial security.
